Robert Ellis grew up in Lewiston, Maine and recently received his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the University of Southern Maine. He is working as the Americorps VISTA Liaison for the Hour Weatherization Co-Operative, a worker-owned social venture that improves the economic and social welfare of its members and the community at large, it affords an opportunity for home improvement through energy efficiency. He says his new position provides “endless opportunities to make a difference in the community. Energy efficiency saves money and saves the environment, it’s absolutely necessary for long term economic growth and is a true investment in the future, green jobs are the new economy.”
