Here’s how it works
The concept is simple. For every hour of service provided to another Service Exchange member you earn one Time Credit. Time Credits are a community currency that members earn by using their time, energy, skills, and talents to help others. Exchanging Services is about local individuals, organizations and business’s helping each other meet their needs cash free in one-to–one exchanges or in group projects. Members help rebuild and sustain neighborhood networks and strengthen community as a result of their activities.
You can spend your Time Credits on any of hundreds of services such as health care, transportation, office clerical help, home repair and weatherization. You can even save them up for future use.
Service Exchange Transactions
This cartoon shows how the chain of exchanges among Time Bank members might happen and the kinds of services the members of a Service Exchange might exchange.
