The three most important functions of administering Hour Exchange Portland is making sure new members can get started, answering members questions as they arise, and checking in with members on the anniversary of when they join. These tasks do not need to be very time consuming and can be done by volunteer Member Leaders.
All the info new members need to get started is on the Join Us page. It may be helpful for them to attend an orientation in person, but that is optional and once they sign a Release Form their account can be activated. Member Leaders usually run Orientations at least twice a month (sometimes more) with one in the evening and one during the day.
Once a week a Member Leader can login and check who has signed up online.
The volunteer Orientation Leader can email the Member Leaders once a month to see when they are available to run an orientation.
At least twice a week a Member Leader can check the email and phone messages, say on a Monday and Thursday.
